Sun City

Sun City: Where South Africa goes to play

Sun City is a thriving, man-made resort at the foot of the Pilanesberg Mountains, located north west of Johannesburg. Developed by hotel magnate Sol Kerzner and first opened in December 1979, the resort has continued to grow over the years, becoming a popular holiday and weekend destination. The resort has a renowned reputation within the international community and is highly regarded as a world class entertainment venue.

Sun City boasts numerous facilities such as a casino, a variety of gourmet restaurants, extensive sport facilities and the Valley of the Waves water park. Game drives into the malaria-free Pilanesberg Nature Reserve offer guests an exciting Big 5 safari experience. The resort complex also has two international-standard 18-hole golf courses; the Gary Player Country Club and the Lost City Golf Course, both designed by Gary Player. The Gary Player Country Club hosts the prestigious Nedbank Golf Challenge tournament annually, with some of the best golfing talents in the world competing for the title.
