On arrival at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by an Albatros Travel representative and taken to the Lumo Sanctuary which borders the Tsavo West National Park. This is a drive of approximately five hours in a comfortable touris minibus, and passes through some gorgeous scenery along the way.

Lions Bluff is a private wilderness lodge, set amidst some of the most spectacular landscapes in Kenya. The lodge has 12 tastefully furnished and traditionally crafted en suite rooms each offering unbroken views across the plains. It is situated on the edge of a community owned wildlife reserve, perched on a bluff and overlooking a watering hole used by elephants and plenty of other animals besides.

After you have settled in we will take you on your first game drive around the sanctuary before returning to the lodge for sundown cocktails and dinner.

This morning it is best to wake up early and enjoy tea or coffee on your veranda as the sun rises over what mut be one of the most magnificent views in Africa. Later after breakfast you can either go out on a further game drive or partake in a guided bush walk and learn all about the area's varied flauna and flora.

After lunch you'll have plenty of time and space to just relax and enjoy yourself. You might want to just look out at the view, and with the help of some binoculars, you are sure to spot all kinds of plains game from the comfort of the lodge.

Later on, sundowners will be served at a special location. Here you can mingle with the other guests and exchange stories from the day before returning to the lodge for dinner.

Today, if you feel inclined, you can take a step back in time and explore some of the many First World War battle sites that surround the lodge.

The battles between Germany and British East Africa (sometimes referred to as the 'Ice Cream War' because the troops 'melted' in the sun) took place between 1914 and 1918. This special walk is guided by experts from the lodge and makes for an extremely interesting morning.

If you'd rather just relax at the lodge and enjoy the facilities then the choice is yours. Given the excellent reviews on Trip Advisor this lodge generates you'd be forgiven for wanting to linger!

Later, after the heat of the day has faded, you can enjoy a final game drive, perhaps seeking out the animals and birds you have yet to spot.

Upon return to camp you will be served dinner around the camp's cosy fires as the sun sets and the starry African skies remind you of what a special place you are staying at.

This morning after an early breakfast we will drive you to Diani Beach and the Galu Beach retreat – a drive of approximately 4 hours. Diani Beach is on Kenya’s south coast -famed for its long white beaches and warm crystal clear waters.

Galu Beach retreat is an intimate resort with only eight rooms, all of which have unspoiled views of the beach and the sea. After you have settled in to your accommodation, you can enjoy a lazy lunch and then take a relaxing walk along the beach. After spending time on safari in Kenya's interior there is no better feeling than the sun on your shoulders and the sand between your toes.

Later, enjoy a cocktail on the beach followed by a fabulous outdoor dinner beneath the stars, before drifting off to sleep serenaded by the sound of bushbabies and the gentle lapping of the waves.

Today you will wake up to blue skies and seas.

There are many things on offer around the resort and you could start the day with some yoga or meditation on the specially-built platform before immersing yourself in the warm Indian Ocean for a dip.

The afternoon heat is the perfect time to take a nap or work on your tan with a cold drink in hand.

However, if it's activity you are after, there is plenty of that on offer too. You could, for example, go snorkeling and explore life under the waves before returning for sundowners and another lovely dinner perpared by the Galu chefs.

Today if you are wondering what to do you might want to spend the day exploring Diani Beach. This long stretch of beach has been voted one of the world's best and it’s easy to see why.

As you walk along the water’s edge you will pass several renowned hotels that stand next to local hidden treasures. The beach has some fantastic seafood restaurants as well as some funky bars that are just as popular with the locals and visitors alike. If exploring doesn’t grab your fancy, then you can spend the day by the pool at the retreat with a good book? You could treat yourself to a massage and a session in the  jacuzzi, which is located on a platform overlooking the ocean.

Today is your last day on the Kenyan coast so why not try something completely different?

Kite surfing has become very popular on the coast in the last few years and Diani Beach has some fantastic instructors. The retreat will be able to guide you to the best one. Book a one day beginner's course and you can experience this thrilling and fast-growing sports. They say once your feet leave the ground and the adrenalin starts pumping through your body you’re hooked.  

If that sounds like too much effort then you'll be pleased to know that you can instead simply spend another day sunbathing, swimming and sampling the cuisine, perhaps trying another treatment or going for a relaxing wlak looking for shells on the beach.

Today your safari and beach holiday with Albatros comes to an end. After breakfast we will take you to Mombasa International Airport and can help arrange onward flights back to Nairobi, if that is where you wish to return to.
