Itinerary

Day 1 Windhoek: Arrival
windhoek

Arrive at Windhoek International Airport, meet and greet with an Albatros representative for travel info and assistance with the collection of your rental car. Drive to your guesthouse situated close to the city centre with a lush green garden and authentic African ambience. The guesthouse is situated just a short walk from the city centre and has excellent views over the Auas mountains. At night, choose to enjoy dinner at this fine location, or spend the night out at one of the city’s many excellent restaurants.

Depending on your time of arrival you can choose from many optional excursions for today; a Windhoek City Tour or a Township Tour, each exploring the history and background of different parts of the city. Alternatively, indulge in an afternoon game-viewing excursion to a game farm north of Windhoek.

Walk over Deadvlei, a sight to be seen with its cracked white clay and skeletal trees. Pay a visit to the Sesriem Canyon which offers a refreshing reprieve from the harsh desert heat. Game and birdlife abound in this sanctuary, where you can choose between a self-drive safari or guided game drive (for your own account) through the reserve.  Return to the lodge at sunset and enjoy hospitality in true Namibian style.  Creatively furnished bungalows offer a warm African ambience, and facilities at the camp include a swimming pool and internet café.

Large herds of animals wander over the plains and gather at the many waterholes, making Etosha National Park a true game viewing paradise.

You can game drive from Okaukuejo until Halali and have a lunch stop there before returning to Okaukuejo’s gate by sunset. Halali is the park’s central camp and game viewing around the area is very good. The gates of Etosha National Park open at sunrise and close at sunset. You could also encounter leopards, dassies, klipspringers, wild dogs, lesser bush babies and cheetahs if you join the daily guided game drive. There are a wide variety of flowering plants, trees and shrubs which add splashes of colour to the plateau.

A number of activities are available to choose from, such as optional daily guided 4x4 game drives to the plateau as well as a selection of walking trails that you can explore by yourself.
