Arrive at Windhoek International Airport where you will be met by an Albatros Representative for travel information and assistance with the collection of your rental car. Drive to the Villa Verdi Guesthouse close to the city centre.  There are many interesting things to do in Windhoek, and this afternoon you can choose between a Windhoek City or Township Tour (each exploring the history and culture of different parts of the city), or an afternoon game-viewing excursion on a game farm just north of Windhoek.

In the evening watch the sun as it sets over the world’s oldest desert.

Sossusvlei Leopard

This morning you’ll need to rise early to drive to the dunes for an excursion of a lifetime! The driving time will be approximately 1½ hours.  Sossusvlei is normally very dry (although during good rainy seasons it may fill up with water), and it is almost fully surrounded by sharp edged dunes, beyond which is an impressive sea of sand stretching as far as the Atlantic coast in the west.  You’ll have the opportunity to climb some of these sky-scraping dunes – the view from the top is breathtaking.

After an exciting morning at the dunes you can explore the Sesriem Canyon.  The canyon offers a revitalizing break from the heat of the harsh and dry desert environment, as it often holds water well into the dry season because it is so deep and sheltered.

Return to your lodge and spend the rest of the day at the swimming pool or enjoy a refreshing drink at the bar.

Driving time: Approximately 45 mins drive from Namib Desert Lodge to Sesriem and another hour till the 2x4 parking area. The last 5 km can be done by 4x4 only. There is a dune shuttle available to take you all the way to the 4x4 parking area (for your own account. Alternatively you can travel on foot.

Included meals:

If you love to walk, the town offers a pedestrian friendly environment to explore the variety of shops, attractions and wonderful sidewalk cafés.
