Mara Migration Madness

Take advantage of this great special offer and witness the Great Migration without breaking the bank.

You’ll be sleeping at an authentic safari camp, spending the days watching the wildlife and the evenings around a campfire beneath the blazing stars. We have worked hard to bring you this incredible offer in which you won’t have to pay premium prices of the Masai Mara lodges. Instead you will be going back to basics in your own mobile camp, complete with cook and English speaking driver guide.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Nairobi – Masai Mara
camping_1

Today the adventure begins with a bright and early start in Nairobi. You will be collected by your driver guide and make your way to the Masai Mara National Reserve, passing through the Great Rift Valley with its breathtaking views.  We’ll be travelling in a minibus that holds up to six people – so this will be the maximum size of your camping group.

The game viewing starts as soon as you’re in through the park gates. The Kenya Wildlife Service will tell us where we are allowed to camp and then we will head off in that direction. Keep your eyes peeled for lions, buffalos and the other big game animals of the park. Setting up camp is a fun experience and positioning your tents to face the direction the sun will come up is a great tip! If you’d rather someone set up your tent for you then the guide will of course oblige – you are on holiday after all!

Life at camp is relaxing and carefree with all your needs taken care of by your driver guide and our own camp cook. You can be as involved as you like to get the most out of your experience. Sunsets in Africa are truly amazing and the red glow of the sky is best enjoyed from the comfort of a camp chair with a bottle of Tusker beer in hand.

Included meals:
Full Board - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 2 – Masai Mara

The sunrise is the only wakeup call you will need this morning as you open your tent flap and peer out over the plains of the Mara at first light. The camp will be a hive of activity as tea and coffee are prepared with a small snack so you can go straight out and enjoy the period when the animals are at their most active.

Lunchtime is hot in the Mara and the best thing to do would be to find a large shady tree and settle down with a good book and a cool drink. Later as the sun begins to go down the animals of the park become more active again and you will head off out again to perhaps witness a hunt or just enjoy the sights of the Mara as the animals get ready for the night ahead.

Back at camp in the evening the fire will be roaring and dinner will be cooking. After a long day in the bush a beer or a glass of chilled wine (or juice) will be just the thing you need. Days on safari don’t get much better than this!

Included meals:
Full Board - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 3 – Depart to Nairobi

After an action-packed three days you won’t want to leave the Mara behind, but as you watch the camp be taken down you can relive the highlights ready to retell when you get back home.

If you really don’t want to leave get in touch with our head office in Nairobi and we will be more than happy to recommend a safari or beach extension to your holiday - good things don’t have to come to an end … just yet!
