Itinerary

Day 1 Windhoek: Arrival
windhoek-church

Arrive at Windhoek International Airport, meet and greet with an Albatros representative for travel info and assistance with the collection of your rental car. Drive to your guesthouse situated close to the city centre with a lush green garden and comfortable rooms which are individually decorated in ethnic styles. A large swimming pool and views of the Auas mountains offer the opportunity to relax after the rigours of travel or a day’s shopping in the city. A pleasant five minute stroll will take you into the city centre with its international banking institutions, excellent restaurants and wide variety of shops.

Depending on the time of your arrival, there are optional sightseeing tours which you can pre-book.  Choose between a Windhoek City Tour or a Township Tour, each exploring the history and culture of the city of Windhoek. Alternatively, enjoy an afternoon of game viewing at a game farm north of Windhoek.

Day 2 & 3 Kalahari Desert
kalahari

After breakfast drive southwards from Windhoek via Rehoboth, heading towards the Kalahari desert and enjoy two nights under the starry skies in a place as old as time. The red Kalahari sand dunes offer picturesque backdrops and a wonderful nature drive where you can view small antelope and a plenitude of bird species. There are also some short, unguided walking trails to follow for the adventurous at heart.

Driving time: Approximately 3 hour drive from Windhoek to Anib Lodge along the B 1 and C20. The distance is about 300 km

Day 4 & 5 Namib Desert: Sossusvlei
sossusvlei

Head south to Sossusvlei in the heart of the Namib Desert and enjoy the ancient atmosphere of some of the highest sand dunes in the world’s oldest desert. Arrive in the afternoon and spend the remainder of the day at leisure, taking in the beauty of the Namibian desert.

Rise early the next morning and self-drive to the dunes for a truly unforgettable experience. Climb the highest dunes, walk over Deadvlei and pay a visit to the Sesriem Canyon.

At lunchtime return to the lodge and spend the rest of the day at the swimming pool, enjoying a drink at the bar or relaxing with a good book.

Driving time: 4 hour drive from the Kalahari Anib Lodge to Sossusvlei along the C19. The distance is about 350 km

Day 6 & 7 Namibian Coast: Swakopmund

Day 8 & 9 Etosha National Park
etosha-national-park

Proceed north from Swakopmund to the vast Etosha National Park, a paradise for game viewers. Spend a full day exploring the game park with its diverse population of wildlife while on the lookout for the big five.  Etosha offers a unique experience, with the white plains of the salt pan extending as far as the eye can see. Zebra, oryx and springbok are just a few of the animals roaming the plains, while the many waterholes attract lion, elephant and rhinoceros and many other animals.

Return to the camp at sunset and enjoy hospitality in true Namibian style.  Tented bungalows with furniture and ceramic features made by local craftsmen add to the welcoming African ambience at this charming bush camp.  An internet café and swimming pool are also available at the camp.
