Excluded in the car rental:
- Refundable deposit: A deposit of R1500.00 is required at the start of a rental. The refundable deposit will be offsetagainst fuel used and any other monies due.
- Additional driver: A charge of R190 per driver per rental. (All drivers must be listed on the rental agreement to ensure valid excess waiver cover at all time).
- Contract feeof R50 per rental agreement.
- Delivery of the vehicle to your hotel – R250
- One way rental charges
- General: A one way fee of R500 is charged when the distance between the pick up location and the drop off location is further than 150 kilometres.
- Trailersare available on request.
- Fine Handling Fee:In the event of traffic fines not being settled by the renter, the renter will then be responsible for the fine and an administrative cost of R220.
- Claim Administration Handling Fee:In the even of an accident/theft there is an administration fee of R550 for the processing of the claim.
- Baby Seats for Childrenare available on request at R 250.00
- Towing: In the event of an accident towing charges are not included and are for the renters own account. If however, the vehicle requires towing due to a mechanical breakdown, towing costs will be incurred by the rental company.
- Valet:In the event of a vehicle being returned with excessive dirt, the vehicle will go thorough a valet process and a minimum charge of R350.00 will be billed directly to the client’s credit card.
- Extensions:Should the renter extend his/her rental, and an extension voucher is not produced then the client will be charged the extension rate directly by the car rental company.

Upon arrival at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg you will be met by a Representative of Albatros Travel who will hand over and explain all of your travel documentation. You will receive:
- A welcome pack containing all the information you will need for your journey, including maps, brochures and itineraries
- Accommodation vouchers for all hotels/lodges along your route
- Domestic plane tickets Johannesburg – Port Elizabeth
- Vouchers for entry to the attractions mentioned in the itinerary
- Other information, including emergency contact numbers etc.
You will then be transferred to your Sandton based hotel via a guided Soweto day tour. At the end of this day tour you will be dropped off at your hotel. On the morning of Day 2 your car will be delivered to the hotel with further instructions for the start of your self-drive holiday.
For the rest of the holiday you will be driving in your own rental vehicle, following the itinerary we have set out. The route is easy to follow and sticks to well sign-posted roads and easy to find hotels. As this is a self-drive tour you can dictate how long you want to spend at interesting stops along the route, and take detours as you wish. At safari stops, game drives will be conducted by experienced rangers.
