Practical information
Arrival & Departure Information – Tanzania has two International airports, the largest being Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar Es Salaam and the second being Kilimanjaro International Airport, which is close to the National Parks in the north of Tanzania, including the Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, Tarangire National Park & the Serengeti. Upon arrival you will be met by a representative from Albatros Tanzania who will assist in going through your safari and offering a few tips while on safari. You will be transferred to your hotel in Arusha and transferred to the airport, or hotel, at the end of your safari. Depending on your flight timings it may be necessary to include an additional overnight stay in Arusha or Dar Es Salaam at the beginning or end of your safari (at an additional cost). Please let us know if you would like to be picked up at a hotel or the airport. If you have already booked your flight, let us know your flight details.
Visas - All foreigners from non-Commonwealth countries are required to possess a valid visa unless their country has an agreement with Tanzania under which the visa requirement is waived. Citizens of Commonwealth countries are not required to obtain visas unless they are citizens of the United Kingdom, Canada, Nigeria, or India. The cost of a single entry visa is US$50 per person. Visas can be purchased on arrival, in the case of most nationals, in all major currencies. Please refer to your local Tanzanian representation for further clarification.
Health Requirements - Yellow fever certificate required if arriving from an endemic area. Please visit your doctor for further medical precautionary advise.
Weather – The weather in Tanzania varies from tropical near the coast (hot & humid) to temperate in the north east highlands. Tanzania`s interesting and varied geography causes differing climatic conditions, and it can be cool at night.
Remember to pack – A spare memory card for your camera as there are amazing photographic opportunities in this diverse country.

Capital City – The official capital city of the United Republic of Tanzania is Dodoma and has been since 1996. Dar Es Salaam is the largest city and the principal commercial city, it is also the major seaport for the country and Tanzania's landlocked neighbours.
