Itinerary

Day 1 – Plantation Lodge

On arrival in Tanzania you will be driven to Plantation Lodge where your romantic break will begin. This beautiful lodge is an oasis of calm and relaxation and the perfect place to start a Tanzanian safari. All the rooms are individual and have their own personal touches and they overlook the fresh green gardens, making afternoon tea on your veranda an idyllic treat.

This afternoon, you can do as you please: most take the chance to rest and recover from their jet lag. Later you can enjoy a candlelit dinner under the stars to round off your perfect first evening.

Day 2 – Plantation Lodge

Today you have the option of visiting the village of Mto wa Mbu followed by a picnic lunch in the Manyara National Park. The Mto wa Mbu village lies within the East African Valley, 120km from Arusha City, and is inhabited by more than 18,000 people from some 120 tribes. The Mto wa Mbu village is among the most active Villages in northern Tanzania, and it is the best stop over for tourists travelling to the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara National Park and Tarangire National Park.

Mto wa Mbu borders Lake Manyara National Park and the lake itself and this interesting tour will give guests the opportunity to explore some different cultures. The Manyara National Park is great for game viewing and has some fantastic spots to enjoy your picnic lunch.

Day 3 – Plantation Lodge

The Ngorongoro Crater is an incredible wildlife destination and an unforgettable placeto spend the day - and that’s just what is on the agenda for today. The 300 square km crater floor is the largest of its kind in the world and is brimming with wildlife. In fact, Ngorongoro is the African savannah in microcosm, making it a natural wonder worth travelling to Africa for even if you don’t see anything else.

We will spend the day at Ngorongoro, observing the different landscapes and game species, so don’t forget to bring plenty of film or extra memory for your camera!

Day 4 –11 - Zanzibar – Breezes Beach Club

Today you leave the isolation and idyllic bush setting of Plantation Lodge for the relaxation and calm of the beaches of Zanzibar. You will be taken to Arusha and from here you will board your plane for Zanzibar. Your accommodation for the next nine nights will be the award-winning Breezes Beach Club and Spa. This resort was the winner of Tanzania’s best resort and you will soon see why.

The setting is perfect and the view from your room will take your breath away. Over the next nine days you can choose from a variety of excursions and activities enabling you to be as active or as idle as you wish on this island retreat. Yoga and meditation are available for all guests as well as a long list of spa treatments at the Frangipani Spa.

Water sports can be easily arranged and there are qualified instructors for the beginners.  Everywhere you look there will be an opportunity to indulge, and the many restaurants often draw culinary inspiration from the local coastal cuisine which uses coconut, tomatoes and spices. The poolside sunbeds placed under the shade are perfect for an afternoon of reading and sunbathing.

With so much on offer you will never be at a loss for something to do and for those who wish to sit back and watch the dhows on the water you will never struggle to find a member of staff to fetch you your next drink or snack. Breezes Beach Club is the perfect place to unwind and relax.

Day 12 – Depart

After almost two weeks in the tropical sun you won’t want to leave.

Nevertheless, all good things must come to an end and we  will transfer you to the airport in time for your scheduled flight home. If, however,you wish to linger longer or visit somewhere else in Tanzania we can arrange to sort out all the transfers and accommodation for you so that you don’t have to worry.

Just remember to contact us in advance with your requirements and we will do our best to make your trip to Tanzania as enjoyable as possible.
