Journey to Chobe National Park, Botswana’s best know game reserve. Untamed, and untamable, Botswana is truly one of the last great refuges for Nature’s magnificent wildlife.

You will also visit the glorious Victoria Falls - or Vic Falls as it is affectionately known - situated within the Victoria Falls National Park. This spectacular waterfall will take your breath away. See the towering column of spray, hear the thunder of the water, marvel at the deep abyss and be inspired by the view of the tranquil lagoons upstream.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
victoria-falls-2

Arrive at Victoria Falls Airport.  For travellers needing to purchase a Zimbabwean visa it usually takes about 30 – 45 minutes to get through immigration (but be patient, if the flight is full it may take up to an hour as the airport is very small).  After immigration procedures you will be met by an Albatros Travel representative. You will be transferred to your lodge, the A’ Zambezi River Lodge, where you will spend the next two nights.  The transfer is 22km and will take around 15 minutes.

Check in and freshen up before you are collected at the lodge in the late afternoon for a sunset cruise down the Zambezi River.  The trip will take about two hours and drinks/sundowners will be served as you relax and soak up the beautiful scenery of the African sunset.

Return to the lodge and relax before enjoying dinner at one of the many restaurants available.

After the tour you will be returned to your lodge and can spend the remainder of the day at leisure, relaxing at the lodge or partaking in any of the many optional excursions offered.

Optional Excursions include helicopter flips, safari walks, elephant back safari, canoeing the Zambezi River or visiting the Victoria Falls Bridge – as well as bungee jumps and white river rafting for the more daring

Check in at the Chobe Game Lodge, where you will stay for the next two nights.  Freshen up and relax in your room or in the main lounge area of the lodge before departing on an afternoon game activity (either a game drive or river safari).  A stop will be made during the excursion for drinks and snacks.

Return to the lodge and relax before enjoying a delicious dinner at the lodge.  The remainder of your evening is at leisure.

Day 4 Chobe

Wake to the sounds of the African bush and enjoy a beautiful sunrise as you embark early this morning for a game drive.  This reserve is home to the Big 5, as well as a huge variety of other game such as various antelope (buck species), giraffe, hyena, hippo, cheetah, wild dogs, baboons and monkeys.  There is also an abundance of birdlife to be enjoyed.

You will return to the lodge in the late morning to enjoy a hearty breakfast.  Relax in your room, or at the pool before you depart in the afternoon on your second evening game drive.  As darkness descends over the reserve your ranger will use a powerful spotlight to seek out the nocturnal animals.  The chance of spotting a leopard is higher at night, and you may even be fortunate enough to witness a lion hunt.  Enjoy dinner on your return to the lodge, and spend the remainder of your evening at leisure

Enjoy another early morning game drive before returning to the lodge for breakfast.  After breakfast you will be transferred to the Kasane Airport 30 km from the lodge (the drive will take about an hour and a half).

On arrival at the airport you will be met by your pilot and escorted to your charter plane.  You will fly over the Okavango Delta; this is the perfect opportunity for photographs so keep your camera ready.  When you land you will be met by your game ranger, who will transfer you to your accommodation.  The transfer will also be your first game drive, and you will hopefully see some of the many animals in the area.  Upon arrival at the lodge you will be shown to your room and will have a chance to unpack before lunch.  Spend the afternoon at leisure, relaxing at the lodge.

The Moremi Reserve is known as one of the most beautiful areas in the delta, and your accommodation is in permanent tented rooms, elevated on individual wooden platforms, each with its own private viewing deck overlooking the lagoon. The rooms are tastefully furnished with hand carved wooden furniture and designer finishes and linens.  The main lodge area rests in the shade of giant ebony trees, offering a lounge, dining area and library.  The lodge is true to its surrounds, providing a genuine bush experience.

In the late afternoon you will go on a game drive, returning to the lodge after nightfall.  Enjoy dinner at the lodge, and spend the remainder of the evening at leisure.
