General Manager

Annelise Bothma General Manager – Southern Africa

I travelled extensively for three years after graduating. My travel experiences in Europe definitely piqued my interest in the travel industry. Upon returning to South Africa, I had the wonderful opportunity to join Albatros Travel, as the Financial Manager. I thoroughly enjoy working at Albatros Travel and it gives me great pleasure to be part of the Albatros Family.

The coastline, wildlife, the people – we love the multi-cultural diversity of experiences South Africa has to offer – and we are thrilled about every opportunity to explore the hidden gems of our country.

Annelise recommends:

Nelson Mandela’s Africa Tour – a best seller!!! You can travel from one province to the next and be totally blown away every time by the beauty and diversity of our country.

FIT Department

Melanie Nel – Operations Manager – International Market

I was born in Cape Town and have travelled all over South Africa, with visits to the neighbouring countries, e.g. Swaziland, Namibia, Zambia and Malawi.

Southern Africa has so much to offer to our visitors, from different cultures, beaches, mountains, wildlife, vast open space, food & wine, etc. I’m passionate about what I do and love putting together a holiday which was always a dream, and now has become an awesome reality. Receiving great feedback from our clients and who are looking to book their next holiday through Albatros Travel, always puts a huge smile on my face. Happy Travelling!!

Melanie recommends:

There is so much to see and experience in South Africa from the great weather, lovely beaches, different cultures, history, to the wildlife. A visit to South Africa is not the same if not stopping off in Cape Town, with a trip up Table Mountain (one of the 7 wonders of the world) or a visit to Robben Island, and ending your holiday with a safari to spot the Big 5. And don’t forget the red dunes, salt pans, deadvlei and the Skeleton Coast of Namibia, another must when visiting Southern Africa.

Nadine de Lange – Tour Consultant

I wasn’t born and bred in Cape Town; my ancestry lies in the Eastern Cape, I do consider myself a Capetonian through and through. As a child I remember taking road trips every June and December holidays to visit the family in East London.  This is where my love of travel stems from. As a South African, I am privileged to be able to engage with locals of many different cultures as well. I love travelling and finding hidden gems in South Africa. I really enjoy turning people’s holiday dreams into reality.

I would describe my perfect holiday as a road trip on the picturesque Garden Route. It is nice to experience Cape Town in the overseas traveler’s eye and even though I was born in Cape Town, I am still amazed at the magnificent view of Table Mountain on a cloudless day.

Nadine recommends:

You will love this unique safari to Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, and Zambia, with Victoria Falls and Chobe National Park, including an exclusive safari cruise on the Chobe River.

Thobile Nzima – Tour Consultant

About me:

I am a vibrant, friendly and very meticulous person who loves the outdoors and nature. Currently pursuing my Master’s Degree in Tourism and Hospitality, I thrive on knowing that I can offer clients the best of Southern Africa through the education I have acquired as well as travel experiences I have had around this beautiful part of the world. For me, excellence is not a goal but rather a standard which I apply in all I do as such clients rest assured that they are in safe hands when they travel with us!

Thobile recommends:

Cape Town and Victoria Falls – these two destinations, in my opinion, are the gems of Southern Africa. Cape Town has something to offer for everyone; one may perhaps describe it as a destination of a million thrills! The Victoria Falls are simply one of the most spectacular sights in Southern Africa and without doubt a natural wonder of the world.

Born and bred in a small town in the middle of the Northern Cape; the love of South Africa is forever in my blood. We have a saying that once the sand of the Kalahari is in your shoes you will never get rid of it and nothing can be truer. You will fall in love with this beautiful country as soon as you step off the airplane and you will want to come back year after year.

Robyn Africa – Reservations Consultant

When I was young, I always had a passion for travel. Even if it was a trip to the nearby beach on a hot summers day. I loved every bit of experience travel could offer me. Until I turned 18 and had an opportunity to travel overseas to Cambodia, Scotland, England and even lived in the USA for a couple of years. I witnessed how many people lived a different life that I did as I grew up in the heart of Cape Town. Since then I decided to make a career out of what I love. Assisting people to experience their dream and tick off another accomplishment from their bucket list. Today I am part of a team who assist people to experience our country at its best.

Robyn recommends:

I always enjoy good Wine Farms in the Winelands district. A quick 2 hour drive along the coast to Paternoster or Langebaan and enjoy delicious seafood with friends and family. Spending a few nights in the Garden Route, my favourite stop-over is Victoria Bay; a small cove along the coast of George. A 2 or 3 night stay in the Kruger National Park and enjoy wildlife in its most beautiful natural form. Last but not least – the Mother City!
