Tarangire National Park Safari Lodge – Honeyguide Tarangire Camp

Discover Tarangire National Park with Honeyguide Tarangire Camp

Our colleague and Product Manager Miriam from our South African Cape Town based office recently joined us on a visit to Honeyguide Camp located in the Tarangire National Park. She shared with us her experience:

I had an amazing time at Honeyguide Tarangire!

The Camp is located in the Northern tip of Tarangire NP, only half an hour drive from the gate which makes it easily accessible, yet, there are no other Game Drive vehicles traversing in the area, which gives it an exclusive and immersive African bush feel.

The park is known for its massive herds of elephants, vibrant birdlife, and distinctive baobab trees which we saw plenty of. We also saw a female lion with her 2 cubs, big herds of buffalo, zebra, giraffe, baboons, and general game – it was amazing!

The swamps in the South offer a completely different ecosystem and landscape than the North which makes it so diverse and a haven for all nature lovers and photographers.

The Camp itself is beautifully positioned: unfenced, so the animals can pass through.

All 10 tents all face west so one can emerge in the spectacular surrounding savannah landscapes and enjoy the sundown from ones private veranda. The authentic safari tents are spacious and practical at the same time offering all the luxuries one needs, having USB plugs next to the bed, electricity 24/7, fully plumbed bathroom with hot water for showers on demand, fans by the bed and a mosquito net covering the bed.

The Camp is eco-friendly (solar powered) with minimal impact on the environmental and ground as it doesn’t leave any footprint when dismantled.

The staff at Camp was extremely welcoming, warm-hearted, and friendly. Every wish was attended too, nothing seemed too much. We had memorable conversations around the campfire with drinks and snacks before and after dinner. I loved the wake-up call with coffee/tea and a home baked biscuit served to your private veranda before heading out for safari. The food was nicely presented, only fresh ingredients and lots of creativity used in the meal planning to create variety and cater for different guest preferences.

Honeyguide Camp is ideal for all safari lovers who enjoy an authentic bush experience with a comfortable feel.
