Trekking and Hiking Adventures On Mount Kenya
Think of trekking in east Africa and you might naturally think of Mount Kenya.
At almost 5,200m Mount Kenya is the highest point in the country and offers some spectacular trekking routes. It’s a rugged, glacier-clad massif, and you’ll need a sturdy pair of boots and several days to make it to the summit. The ecology of its afro-alpine flora provides an outstanding example of evolutionary processes, and there are three main routes, which pass through forest and moorland on this extinct volcano.
You do not need to be a professional climber to scale Mount Kenya, but you do need a certain amount of physical stamina so a bit of pre departure training is highly recommended. Saying that, some of the gentler treks which pass through the lower biomes can be equally as rewarding as any assault on the summit, so don’t think that a hike up Mount Kenya is beyond you.
Our guides are experienced and have probably trekked up every route imaginable. They will help you to achieve your goal, making your holiday as enjoyable and rewarding as can be.
